Currently working out of Higher Ground Studio, contemporary Sydney based artist BENNETT, uses aerosol, acrylic and a variety of mixed media to create his unique mash-up style, street influenced works. His sometimes thought provoking statements are achieved by twisting, adjusting and re-contextualising common and mass produced objects, themes and phrases. Alternative meanings and narratives are noticeable characteristics within BENNETTS’ work. These fictional scenarios are created to both entertain and challenge the audience to explore each piece in the search for their own meaning or conclusion.
The contrasting yet complimentary use of textural layered backgrounds and bold foreground images within these post punk styled works, further extends the idea of personal exploration and satisfaction each work is desired to provide.
